Professional Development
"In counseling, I draw on psychosocial, psychoanalytic, and cognitive-behavioural ideas to navigate the stress of becoming a better man in a moment of history in which malehood is under constant public scrutiny and criticism.
As some role models from the past are problematic, and new ones are still in the making, it can be pretty disorienting to navigate the expectations that society, partners, and we place upon ourselves. Together, we will explore the tools to bridge the gap between who you are now and who you want to become.
We will do this while improving your skills to manage the anxiety, loneliness, and discomfort one faces when learning how to foster meaningful connections and build a fulfilling life.
Since 2016, my life has been nomadic. As a professor, researcher, and therapist, working between São Paulo, Toronto, and New York, I had to face the less glamorous side effects of being a digital nomad: isolation, cultural conflicts, and the challenges of self-discipline.
The resources and ideas we will discuss in our sessions are some of the ones I used in challenging times. You are the specialist in your life and your journey, so during our sessions, we will explore with curiosity to find a way around the obstacles preventing you from taking your next step, whatever it is.
We can also do this in English or Portuguese."
